Ablaze: High School Ministry

Teens who desire a greater involvement in their faith life can participate in Ablaze and experience a unique discipleship ministry. Each teen joins a small group that they stay with throughout the program year.  Each small group is assigned an older high school teen who acts as a peer leader to their small group, in addition to adult mentors. The small groups participate in a scripture focused discipleship that will lead the teens to a deeper understanding and personal acceptance of their faith and a stronger desire to witness that faith to others.
Ablaze is an Acts 2:42 faith community: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” We meet together once a week to build strong and meaningful bonds of friendship, we share a meal together, learn more about Jesus Christ thorough study and discussion of the sacred scriptures and we pray for each other throughout the week.  When we meet we are also endeavoring to follow St. Paul's guidance in 2 Timothy 1:6 to "fan into flame the gift of God which is in you."
On designated Sundays from 7pm - 8:30pm, we gather for social and spiritual activities that help teens come closer to Jesus Christ and participate fully in his Church. Food and Beverages will be provided. Specific mini-retreats, socials and summer activities will be scheduled to further enhance the social and spiritual growth of the teens.
This ministry invites all in high school who truly desire to be part of a fun, meaningful and faith- filled community of peers to join us and experience the depth of relationship and expansion of faith that comes from being a part of Ablaze at Holy Apostles Parish.
